A denim jacket is one piece that I believe every wardrobe needs, especially in the spring & summer. This classic topper pairs perfectly with casual styles like a striped tee or little white dress, but it’s also great for adding a cool contrast to more sophisticated pieces. The one I own (shown above) is over 3 years old and only seems to get better with age. I personally prefer a lighter wash with a slightly worn-in look…and I almost always roll or scrunch the sleeves up for an even more effortless feel. Whether you already have one & just need new ideas for outfits with a jean jacket or if you’re still searching for your ideal denim jacket, this post has got you covered!

Tips for shopping Jean Jackets
- Find a soft and stretchy denim jacket. They do exist! I believe you should be comfortable in your clothing, especially with an essential item like this. So, I’m a huge advocate for you finding a comfy jean jacket. Remember, if it is not comfortable you probably will not wear it or even want to try any of these outfits with a jean jacket.
- Go for a medium/light wash, if unsure. That range works well with the most skin tones and looks great with a lot of colors and styles.
- Try a relaxed but fitted look, not too cropped. If you have strong opinions about a style, go for whichever fit you prefer But, if you have no clue on style, go for a denim jacket that’s relaxed and fitted along the torso and in the sleeves. This will help it look more flattering instead of boxy. A somewhat fitted jacket will look much better with skirts and dresses, although I have also seen oversized jackets look so good with skirts.
