Peplum Punch

I try to embrace one or two new trends each season and while some might take me a little time to warm up to, there are others that I immediately love…like peplum.  This shape has a retro & ladylike vibe and it can be flattering on so many different body types.  If you’re pear-shaped (like me), you may want to choose a top instead of a skirt, because the frill sits up higher & won’t add more bulk to your hips.  But, if you’re straight up & down, try a peplum skirt to help create curves and balance out proportions.

What I’m wearing:

Forever 21 top (similar here, here or here), New York & Company skirt (similar on sale here or here), Guess pumps, Target sunnies, The Limited clutch, Accessorize necklace, MixIt Cuff (similar here), Nails: Sally Hansen White On, Lips: Revlon Lip Butter Candy Apple

Beautiful! Love this. Totally agree that peplum for some — especially with over-the-top skirts might not always work — however this blouse is awesome. Love it with the polka dots.

I have to admit that this is a trend I'm not crazy about. I think because I wore the original version when I was younger. But, you look amazing! Love that color and paired with the skirt is perfection. Great job!
