I try to embrace one or two new trends each season and while some might take me a little time to warm up to, there are others that I immediately love…like peplum. This shape has a retro & ladylike vibe and it can be flattering on so many different body types. If you’re pear-shaped (like me), you may want to choose a top instead of a skirt, because the frill sits up higher & won’t add more bulk to your hips. But, if you’re straight up & down, try a peplum skirt to help create curves and balance out proportions.
What I’m wearing:
Beautiful peplum top!!

Beautiful! Love this. Totally agree that peplum for some — especially with over-the-top skirts might not always work — however this blouse is awesome. Love it with the polka dots.
I have to admit that this is a trend I'm not crazy about. I think because I wore the original version when I was younger. But, you look amazing! Love that color and paired with the skirt is perfection. Great job!

I do love me some peplum…your red F21 version is cute! Very flattering for most body types!

A beautiful pop of color!
I wanted that peplum top at F21 but by the time I saw it in the window display and went into the store, it was long gone! It looks great paired with the polka dot skirt, and what a gorgeous backdrop!

Thanks for the tip: re peplum. I have shied away from the trend and I think it's because I was looking at peplum skirts only. I am a pear shape, too, and couldn't see how making my skirts *wider* would help!
gosh that is So adorable!! you wore it very well 🙂
