All opinions are 100% honest & all items were hand-selected by me.
I’ve been getting lots of requests lately for vacation outfits so today I’m finally answering your questions & sharing some ideas that are beyond the basic sundress or tee & shorts. We actually leave tomorrow to go on a 5-day camping trip – it’s one of my favorite things in all the world & I cannot wait to have some good quality family time away from screens & the busyness of life. But, for those of you who are heading to a slightly more glamorous location, I’ve put together some chic resort-wear looks featuring separates that you can mix & match on your trip. And the best part is that everything is on sale now!
Memorial Day Weekend always brings some of the best deals & Macy’s just launched their sale, where you’ll get 20% off select styles sitewide using code MEMDAY + free shipping at $75! They have so many great new arrivals that you can wear everyday or on your upcoming travels + this is the best time to stock up before we head into summer because the prices are at an all-time low!
I’m starting out with my favorite of the three looks – this would be perfect for exploring the area because both pieces are airy woven blends and low block heel sandals are comfortable for walking around in. This top would also be cute with skinny jeans & woven flats for a casual everyday look – I think the buckle detail gives it a modern feel & this neutral hue would look even better against a summer tan.
These shorts actually have a paper-bag waist and they come with a tie belt, but it’s removable so you can wear them with longer tops too. The inseam is just the right length and, even though these are white linen, they aren’t see-through. I don’t wear a lot of shorts, but the fit was so good on these that I ordered another pair (they come in 8 different colors & they’re under $28)!
What I’m wearing:
c/o J.O.A. Wrap Top, c/o I.N.C. Shorts, c/o Lucky Brand Hoops,
c/o Steve Madden Sandals, c/o Fossil Straw Crossbody
These chic separates would be great for a day of sightseeing – I always bring a hat with me to protect my face from the sun (especially when I know I’m heading someplace where there won’t be a reliable source of shade). Macy’s has dozens of straw hats & visors for summer like this embroidered hat, this straw visor (just ordered in black!), this wide brim sun hat & this floppy packable hat.
Lightweight wide leg pants are great for the current weather because they move with you but don’t cling to your legs when it gets hot. When it comes to styling these, think of wearing them in the same way as you would a midi skirt – you want to keep your waist well-defined to maintain a sleek silhouette. Because the color & shape of these are a statement on their own, I kept this look simple with a basic white tee & minimal jewelry. Other wide leg pants to try: this striped pair, this neutral pair or this belted style.
I was so excited when I found these leather slides because they are a dead ringer for the popular Saint Laurent sandals (which have a $600 price tag). Unlike other slides I own, these actually have some decent cushioning built into the footbed + they don’t rub on the sides of your foot when you walk. They also come in black, white, snake print & leopard print + they’re only $35 – such a great look for less!
What I’m wearing:
c/o Maison Jules Tank Top, c/o Lucy Paris Pants,
c/o I.N.C. Slide Sandals, c/o RACHEL Rachel Roy Necklace,
Similar Hat, Nails: Essie (Style Stunner)
This last outfit is perfect for dinner at the resort or in town – I personally prefer to bring along tops & skirts with me when I’m traveling (rather than dresses) because I can create more looks by mixing them with other pieces I packed. For example, you could pair this same cami with printed shorts (like these or these) for daytime and throw this skirt on over a solid black swimsuit (like this or this) for heading to the beach.
This ruffled camisole has adjustable straps & the prettiest tie detail in back – it does run big, so I recommend sizing down. And would you believe this midi skirt is less than $20?! I love the button detail and that the waist is elastic in back to ensure a perfect fit. Other cute skirts to check out during the sale: this ruffled skirt, this printed midi, this striped wrap skirt & this button-front skirt. See more of my favorites in the scrolling bars below!
What I’m wearing:
c/o DKNY Ruffled Camisole, c/o Ultra Flirt Midi Skirt,
c/o I.N.C. Heels (similar here or here),
c/o Zenzii Flower Earrings, c/o I.N.C. Straw Bag
