When I first started shopping on a budget, I spent a lot of time combing through the racks at Forever 21 & I shopped the online site pretty frequently. But, as I’ve gotten older, I’ve found less and less items there that are age-appropriate and that I’m willing to spend money on. So, in an effort to find a store that could serve as a “replacement”, I’ve been shopping more at T.J.Maxx. Not only have I found a greater selection, but the pieces are better quality while still being affordably priced (for example, they carry tons of Vince Camuto shoes like these & these, which are really comfortable). I love that they have an online site (you can make returns to your local store) – I’ve found that checking the new arrivals once a week is a great way to discover the best pieces before they sell out.
This top is one of my favorite recent purchases because it’s made of the softest stretchy material and you can wear it with a regular bra (the cute pom-pom trim doesn’t hurt either!). I picked up a few activewear items for the coming season too including this top & these compression leggings, which are so flattering. We also buy all of our luggage at T.J.Maxx & I’ve been so happy with how it’s held up – see my favorites here, here & here.
The last thing I have to mention is these jeans, which I bought as an order filler to reach the minimum for free shipping – anyone else do this? I was a bit skeptical being that they were in junior’s sizing…but the fit is absolutely perfect! (Note: they do stretch a bit with wear, so I recommend sizing down). I’ve been intrigued by this step hem trend but didn’t love that most of the denim styles I’d seen had a ragged raw hem, which looked somewhat sloppy to me. These are a subtle take on the style and the finished hem gives them slightly more polish. The best part of all is that they are less than $30 + they ship for free!
What I’m wearing:
Kim & Cami Top (also in black), Indigo Rein Jeans (wearing size 5), Madden Girl Heels,
Similar Bag, Similar Necklace, Charming Charlie Bracelets (similar),
Madewell Ring (similar), Melrose & Market Earrings (similar here or here)
