I am so excited to share with you today a style challenge that I am participating in with a handful of other bloggers for RetailMeNot. If you aren’t familiar with their site, they have a daily list of printable coupons & codes for thousands of retailers & online sites. For those of you who check my Sales Alerts tab frequently, you know how I love to keep up on those deals!
They graciously gave us $100 each to spend towards creating a winter outfit that exemplifies our own personal style. We were asked to use the coupons on their site and then go shopping to put together a complete look. It took a little bit of hard work to find the best deals on the things I wanted, but using their site as a guide for sales was a HUGE help because I was able to make my money go further.
I decided to stick with classic pieces that are wardrobe staples & would be easy to mix and match with items I already have in my closet. Here is a snapshot of what I purchased & a break-down of the savings I scored using RetailMeNot coupons:
1) Apt. 9 Angora Sweater – original price: $60.00; on sale for $36.00; paid $25.20 (using Kohl’s 30% off coupon)
2) Gap Slim Cropped Pants – original price: $49.95; on sale for $19.99; paid $13.99 (using Gap 30% off coupon)
3) Old Navy Wool Coat – original price: $54.94; on sale for $27.47; paid $21.98 (using Old Navy 20% off coupon)
4) Chinese Laundry Pumps – original price: $99.00; on sale for $34.65; paid $29.45 (using Macy’s 15% off coupon)
Grand Total = $90.62
perfect for a day at the office, church or brunch with friends. You could also swap out the trousers & pumps with skinny jeans
& boots for a more casual day
look. Want to save big like I did? You can subscribe to RetailMeNot & get their coupons delivered to your inbox so you never miss a sale again – sign up here!
I'm impressed! Things like this make me think maybe I shouldn't spend $100 (or more) on one thing at J. Crew… haha ๐

You have such a knack for putting together polished outfits. I love this color combo; I actually recently paired camel with green on my blog and loved the result. And that vintage clutch is fantastic! I love the texture on it.

Wow, great work! Amazing outfit for under $100! ๐
What a great outfit, and great prices, too! Love the sweater – I wish it wasn't angora, otherwise I would buy it in a heartbeat! And the color of that coat is amazing. Also, you are definitely brave to wear heels in the snow and ice – I finally dug out my snow boots for the first time since I bought them at the beginning of last winter! ๐

Wow, what great deals! Old Navy has the best after Christmas sales. I have to say that each retailer this year has had great after Christmas sales. I had not heard of retail-me-not so I will definitely check it out now! I am always one up for a bargain. I have never seen a coat in such a lovely color-excellent job on the challenge.
You have a great post Retailmenot is my favorite coupon site. I also use CouponRefund for exclusive fashion coupons.

This is amazing. As in, I am literally amazed at the affordability/adorability of this outfit.
One question, did you buy these items in store or online? I use RMN coupon codes and can find killer deals online, but the shipping costs usually make the savings a wash.
I was actually able to buy all these items in store since the coupons were printable or they honored them when I showed them the code on my phone! ๐
xo,
Kimberly
Congrats on winning the challenge! I received an email about it & that is how I found your site. I love it. I love the app from RetailMeNot & am sad I don't live in the city any more when it comes to fashion….
Cannot believe the deals you got on these pieces! Great job, Kimberly!
