Yesterday was the first official day of fall, so I celebrated the occasion by making pumpkin cinnamon rolls (with this recipe), stocking up on pumpkins for my front porch & wearing rich fall hues with light layers. I created this head-to-toe look from pieces I ordered recently from Century 21. If you’re not familiar with them, they are basically like a T.J.Maxx – they carry name brand styles at a fraction of department store prices. I’ve purchased a few items from them in the past & you may have seen me link to their site for my Steals Under $35 and Weekly Top Finds posts. They have so many great pieces for the season & these are a few of my favorites!
This draped jacket is such a great layering piece because it’s a lighter weight fabric than a traditional leather jacket. I feel like this style is the perfect mix of sophisticated & edgy, which I love. This comes in tons of different color options – I’m wearing the mahogany here, but I also love the burgundy & graphite (or you could opt for classic black, which goes with everything). I think black & brown is one of my favorite color combinations for fall/winter, but this would be equally chic with off-white denim too!
I paired it with this super soft ribbed sweater – I like that it has a slightly cropped length, which makes it perfect for wearing with high-waisted jeans & skirts (like this corduroy mini). Plus, the subtle balloon sleeve & square neckline make it so feminine & flattering! This also comes in a gorgeous rust hue – and we all know it’s one of my favorite colors for the season. Other pieces under $50 from their site: this balloon sleeve sweater, these snake print flats, this chevron cardigan, this leopard skirt & this mustard clutch.
