The adjustment of moving to Oregon from New York has been challenging in many ways, but one thing I didn’t anticipate was how the difference in climate would affect me. When we left New York, it was still in the 30’s with the occasional snow flurry…and when we arrived in Oregon, it was in the 60’s with a seemingly constant drizzle. Needless to say, my hair has had a hard time adjusting to the frequent precipitation and frizz has become enemy #1.
So, I was thrilled when Herbal Essences reached out to share the Potent Aloe Collections with me & I was excited to give them a try. The Herbal Essences bio:renew Collection is made with sustainably harvested aloe vera and contains real botanicals endorsed by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew – one of the world’s leading authorities on plants, with 260 years of botanical expertise! All of these products are free from sulfates, parabens, mineral oil and colorants. They are also color safe and certified cruelty-free by PETA. This is one of the first drugstore shampoos to be EWG-verified, which is so important for those of us who are trying to make clean beauty more of a priority.
I’ve been using the Potent Aloe + Hemp Collection for frizz control, because frizz is my main area of concern. And I really felt like the combination of this shampoo & conditioner made a difference and helped the flyaway hairs I do have lay more flat and remain controlled throughout the day. It is also, by far, the best smelling product I’ve ever used on my hair – this citrus, jasmine & coconut blend is so perfect for the summer (my husband couldn’t stop smelling my hair!).
This coconut milk & aloe mask is so luxurious and, unlike any other hair mask I’ve tried. I love that you don’t have to leave it on for hours to get amazing results. Here’s how to use: apply to clean wet hair (right after shampooing), focusing on the mid-shaft to ends, where hair tends to be the driest. I personally left it on while I shaved my legs & then rinsed out the product afterwards. If you have fine or thin hair, I recommend only leaving on for a minute – because it’s so rich & hydrating, a little goes a long way!
So often, when I’ve tried clean beauty products, they just are not very effective. But these products met my standards and truly delivered on their promise to give me shiny, frizz-free hair that smells as good as it feels. The best part is that these are available at Walmart so you can order online & pickup curbside (my new preferred way to shop). If you’re looking to clean up your beauty routine a bit, but don’t want to spend a fortune, this entire line is an excellent affordable option that I think you will love!
