Summer for us is all about days at the beach, pool parties and swim lessons – sometimes I feel like we are constantly in the water…which is fine by me considering how hot it has been here in NY. I’ve personally never understood the reasoning behind spending a fortune on designer swimwear. There are plenty of options for every body shape at affordable prices – it’s all about finding what you feel most comfortable in. And because I know that style preference varies greatly from person to person, I’m sharing 2 of my favorites from Old Navy today + some versatile cover-up ideas that will transition you from the beach/pool to a casual dinner & drinks. FOR THE POOL
We are blessed to have friends nearby who have a gorgeous in-ground pool & they are so generous to invite us over frequently throughout the summer so we can enjoy it. When heading to their house for a BBQ or pool party, I want to wear something that’s both comfortable & cute. This easy drop-waist dress is my go-to summer uniform because I can throw it on over my suit but it also works on it’s own with strappy flat sandals & a panama hat for a stylish everyday look.

AT THE BEACH
When we’re heading to the beach as a family, we always have a lot of things to bring with us – a roomy tote like this one is a necessity for carrying our towels, sunscreen, Frisbee, snacks & water bottles. And because the kids will inevitably want to grab a bite at our favorite local restaurant after playing in the sand all day, I like to wear a pretty gauzy dress as my cover up. Just add a denim jacket (or vest) on top and you’re set!
