One of the biggest trends we saw through the summer was a classic bandana tied around the neck (see examples here & here). Though I loved the idea of this & the way it looked on others, every time I tried to pull it off, it didn’t quite feel right on me. So, I was pleased when the skinny scarf began to gain momentum this fall, because they have a slightly polished feel…which is more in line with my own personal style. I also appreciate any trend that is season-less and will carry over from winter to spring to fall. I scooped up this one during a Black Friday sale and have been wearing it with simple sweaters & blouses on days that don’t require a heavier scarf around my neck.
I had mentioned in previous posts that I would be doing a winter shopping freeze for January & February – I did this last year and have decided to make it an annual tradition (read my recap post here). Other than purchasing necessary toiletry items that I run out of, I will not be spending any money on new clothing or beauty items until March 1st. Because of this, there will be lots of remixing of old pieces – so, for those of you who are still shopping, I will do my best to include links to similar items in my posts and I will continue to publish my regular Steals Under $30 and 20 Under $20 series. If you’re interested in joining me, be sure to follow along on Facebook, where I’ll be issuing weekly challenges to help you dig deep in your closet & find creative ways to put together outfits.
