There’s officially only one week left until Christmas – can you believe it?! Even though we’re in a bit of a crunch before the holiday, for those of you who need to get some last-minute gifts, there’s still time left! Today I’m sharing 5 gifts that I picked up last week using the buy online/pick up in store feature available at JCPenney. I was able to check off everyone on my list while staying on budget (plus I grabbed a cute sweater for myself). Right now you can get an extra 20-25% off your purchase with code GIFTALL + free shipping at $49. If you buy an online only style, you can still get it in time for Christmas if you order by 12pm on 12.17! Read on for all the best buys for your whole family…
Sharper Image Bluetooth Microphone
My daughter takes after me in so many ways – one of them being that she’s a music lover and is pretty much always singing. Now that she (finally!) has her own cell phone, I thought this microphone would be a fun way for her to sing along with her favorite songs. I actually gave this to her early so we could use it for her Sweet 16 birthday party last week and it was a huge hit! She’s already created a song playlist on her phone specifically for karaoke with her friends. If you have someone who loves to sing & you want to spend a little more, you can buy a full-blown karaoke machine here – I’ve looked at a lot of these over the years & this one is such a great price!
Sharper Image Noise-Cancelling Bluetooth Headphones
As much as my daughter loves to sing, it can sometimes be a bit much for her younger brother to tolerate. The old headphones he was using for school just died a few weeks ago, so the timing couldn’t have been more perfect for getting him these. I like that these come with a travel pouch & airline adapter, so he can use these when we’re flying home to visit family. I also picked up this remote control RV for him so he would have a fun gift to open too – appreciate that it can get wet without malfunctioning, which is a must in upstate NY!
Hammer + Axe Electric Wine Opener
Because we have 5 December birthdays in our family, my husband & I typically don’t buy holiday gifts for each other. But, we always get a few smaller stocking stuffer type presents so we still have some things to open on Christmas morning. This electric wine opener is more of a practical gift, but I know we will put it to good use on a regular basis + it’s so pretty that I don’t mind it sitting out on the counter! We celebrated his birthday last week and I also gave him this mock neck pullover (which he loved!) & this packable hammock (for all our camping adventures).
Caravelle Designed by Bulova Chronograph Watch
As most of you know, my dad was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer in late October, which has been devastating to my whole family. I’ve been flying back & forth between New York and Oregon to help care for him while he undergoes treatment and we are so blessed to be able to go back as a family this Christmas & spend the holidays together. My dad & I have always been very close and we’ve had lots of conversations lately about time – how much he has left, how he wants to spend it, the things he still wants to do.
I loved the idea of getting him a new watch (the one he currently has is over 15 years old) – I plan on taking it to an engraving shop & inscribing something special on the back for him. I hope this will be a symbolic reminder to him that every day is a gift & to spend his time doing the things he enjoys, surrounded by the people he loves. If you’re looking for a similar more affordable option for the man in your life, this one is a sleek modern version; this one is under $70 and this one has the same look for less than $30.
Diamond Bolo Bracelet
Due to my dad’s diagnosis, the last few months have been really hard on my mom, so I wanted to get her something extra special this year. She has fairly small wrists, but as she’s gotten older, the arthritis in her hands has caused her joints to swell so much that she’s unable to wear some of her favorite bangles because she can’t get them over her hands. So this gorgeous diamond bracelet will be perfect for her because she can adjust it for a perfect fit. I love that it’s dainty enough for every day use (and great for stacking!), plus it has just the right amount of shine without feeling too fancy. Unfortunately, this particular bracelet sold out before I was able to share it with you, but I found similar styles here, here & here.
