Several of my friends never used to shop at Nordstrom because they thought it was out of their price range, but ever since I turned them on to their budget-friendly in-house brands, they have been hooked! Since I consider you all my friends (even though most of us have never met face-to-face), I want to share with you the same great scoop because there are some truly incredible gems to be found. So, today I’m highlighting my top 3 knitwear picks for winter from their BP, Leith and Treasure & Bond lines – everything is under $60 and, as always, all shipping & returns are free!
THE WRAP SWEATER
Similar to a wrap dress, this silhouette of sweater is so complimentary to any figure & can be easily dressed up or down. Because it isn’t bulky, you can tuck it into a midi skirt (like this or this) + the plunging neckline provides the perfect backdrop for layered necklaces – this mixed metal style is great buy!
The one I’m wearing here is a faux wrap, which I personally prefer because you don’t have to worry about it staying tied in place as you move around throughout the day. Because it doesn’t have a closure in front, though, you will definitely want to pin it or layer a cami underneath for coverage (like this or this). This rust hue is one of my favorites because it’s flattering on any skintone, it works well in both fall & winter and it pairs beautifully with blue, black or white denim. Other lightweight knitwear I love: this raglan sweater (such an elegant neckline), this puff sleeve sweater, this crewneck sweater (a great basic) & this mock neck sweater (just ordered in black!).

THE SWEATER DRESS
I typically don’t wear dresses this time of year – mainly because I hate being cold and I’m not a big fan of tights. But, this cozy sweater dress has changed my mind! Because it’s a longer length, I was able to go without tights (though you could easily layer them underneath if you live in a colder climate). This is made from a soft knit blend that’s not too bulky and it isn’t itchy at all – and it’s currently on sale for just $27.50!!
What I love about sweater dresses is their versatility – you can wear them with booties, pumps or sneakers, depending on the look you’re going for. A lot of knit dresses I’ve tried seem to be overly clingy, but this one has such a nice relaxed fit that I found very flattering. I got my usual size, but if you prefer a more fitted look, you’ll want to size down in this one. More chic sweater dress options to try here, here & here.
If you’re shorter or on the petite side, this one may be a better length for you. But, if you’re in the Nordy Club, alterations are free…so you could simply have this hemmed to suit you. If you’re not already a member, you can sign up here – it’s quick, easy and totally free + you’ll earn points for every purchase you make. For every 2,000 points, you get a $20 Nordstrom Note (basically a gift card) that you can use on anything you want at Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, HauteLook or Nordstrom Trunk Club – it’s like getting paid to shop!

THE FAIR ISLE CARDIGAN
By now, you know what a big fan I am of fair isle patterns, so I couldn’t resist this amazing budget buy! I actually like this one better than the other cardigan I shared with you last week because it’s a softer knit, it isn’t as cropped and the shape is much more flattering (recommend sizing down). I front-tucked it into my jeans here, but it’s actually long enough that you could wear it over leggings (these are my all-time favorite!). More fair isle sweaters worth checking out include this crewneck, this mockneck (currently on sale!) and this splurge-worthy metallic style.
You may notice that I’m wearing the same booties in all these outfits…and it’s because they’re THAT good! Real leather with a comfortable block heel, under $45 and over 200 five-star reviews – these are such a steal. I went up 1/2 a size as the listing suggested and found them to fit comfortably with knit socks. As you can see in these photos, the shaft height is perfect for wearing with jeans or dresses.
