Thank you to JCPenney & ShopStyle for kindly sponsoring this post.
All opinions are 100% honest & all items were hand-selected by me.
I’ll be honest, it’s still freezing cold here in NY…but I know that most of you are exclusively shopping for spring, so my goal is to begin showcasing some transitional looks as we inch closer to March. Even if the weather isn’t quite warming up yet where you live, this is a good time to start looking at your closet & ensuring that you have all the right pieces to layer & mix-and-match for the warmer temperatures that are inevitably coming our way.
Today I’m sharing two outfits from JCPenney that are perfect for wearing during those awkward in-between weather days – and the best part is that everything is marked down now. You can get an extra 20% off your purchase or 25% off when you spend $100 with code NEWLOOK6 – but hurry, today is the last day of the sale! Here are some of my top picks from their new arrivals + my tips for seamlessly handling the winter-to-spring shift…
I think one of the easiest ways to begin slowly easing into the new season with your wardrobe is to opt for a lighter color palette. This can be as simple as swapping out black jeans for lighter wash denim & incorporating some softer tones to accent your look. For example, this rich cognac jacket looks great with faux leather leggings (like these or these) & over-the-knee boots, but to pull it into spring, I paired it with creamy neutrals instead.
Unfortunately, there are limited sizes left in this jacket, but I think this one is another great neutral option! I personally love the idea of wearing a v-neck cardigan as a top & I think this camel sweater is a wardrobe staple because you can wear it year-round! This would also look great tucked into a skirt like this faux suede midi.
Although I believe in wearing white denim in every season, there’s something slightly more versatile about a pair that’s not quite as stark. These jeans are more of an off-white (I’m wearing the Very Natural wash) and I think they will be in regular rotation from here on out. I got my usual size in these, but I noticed that they did stretch out a bit as I wore them – so if I had to do it again, I would probably size down to allow for that.
What I’m wearing:
c/o Worthington Faux Suede Jacket (love this trench too!), c/o Worthington Cardigan,
c/o a.n.a Jeans, c/o a.n.a Peep-Toe Booties, c/o Monet Pearl Hoops
Open-front cardigans are a must-have layering piece that you can wear all season long & even into the early summer – layer them over tees with denim, pair with floral dresses (like this or this) or style with tailored trousers & a silky camisole for the office. I can’t believe there was a time when I didn’t own any because my collection now is pretty impressive!
This pale blush cardigan is such a pretty color for spring & it’s great for wearing with all the neutrals I already own. I added a pop of pattern with these snake print booties, which I think are so fun. The low heel makes these super comfortable & they also come in leopard print, black, olive or tan. These are ideal for adding a little edge to more feminine looks like this simple blouse & this pleated midi skirt.
This sweater has a very generous fit, so I recommend sizing down (if you’re not a fan of pink, it also comes in a soft blue that would look so chic with grey jeans like these). Other transitional cardigans worth checking out include this ribbed duster, this pointelle cardigan, this v-neck cardigan & this oatmeal cardigan.
