All opinions are 100% honest & all items were hand-selected by me.
As much as I love my jeans & t-shirts, over the years, I’ve discovered that the outfits I feel the most confident in are usually a combination of slightly more polished pieces. So, in an effort to get out of my style rut, I’m challenging myself to wear more looks that don’t include denim and to get more creative with mixing & matching separates in a fresh way for spring.
Today I’m sharing two new outfits with you that are perfect examples of this! I kept the colors neutral & the silhouettes classic so these are pieces that can become true staples in your wardrobe. And the best part is that everything you see here is part of Macy’s VIP sale, where you can get 30% off select styles + 15% off select cosmetics & fragrances through March 24th with code VIP.
I’m thrilled to announce that this is the first post in a multi-month partnership with Macy’s. If you’ve followed me for a while, you know that I’ve featured them quite a bit over the years because I’m a huge fan of the brands they carry, their excellent customer service & their regular sales. So, I’d love to hear if there are specific items you’d like to see me focus on over the next few months – I’m happy to highlight anything from fashion to home decor to beauty, so please share your thoughts in the comments below!
Wide leg pants are back in a big way this season & I couldn’t be happier about it! The fabric of these is like a stretchy ponte (with an elastic waist!), which makes them insanely comfortable. I love the vertical stripes & button detail and the fact that they don’t have pockets, which can add unwanted bulk around your thighs. These would be so great for the office but equally as cute with a simple white tee, denim jacket & slide sandals (or sneakers!). I scoured Macy’s site & found some great wide-leg pant options like this printed pair, this white pair & this mustard pair (wear with this top).
If you’re on the hunt for a white button-down blouse with great details, this is it! The puff sleeve gives it a modern feel and it’s not too sheer (I’m wearing with a nude bra here). It also comes in blush, black & plum if you don’t need a white version. Styling hack: if you want to tie up your tops in a knot but there isn’t enough fabric to work with or you can’t get the knot to look right, just use a clear hair elastic & wrap it around to create a faux knot (like I did here).
What I’m wearing:
c/o 1. State Puff-Sleeve V-Neck Blouse, c/o Maison Jules Wide-Leg Cropped Pants,
c/o Vince Camuto Leera Espadrille Wedges, c/o INC Ajae Bucket Bag,
c/o INC Wood Disc & Rattan Teardrop Earrings (another option here),
Similar Bracelets (here & here), Lips: NYX Butter Lipstick (Firecracker)
Everyone needs a great floral skirt for spring and, although I love pastels & brights, I went with this under $25 style because it’s neutral enough to wear in all seasons (great for those of you with a capsule wardrobe!). I paired it with a fitted striped sweater (less than $14!) for a subtle take on print mixing. But, for summer, I’d wear it with this camisole & these wedges (so comfortable & they go with everything!). For fall, I’d wear it with this cable-knit sweater & these booties. For winter, I’d wear it with this burgundy cashmere sweater (under $35!), this wrap coat & these boots.
I’ve been so impressed with the accessories from I.N.C., which is Macy’s in-house brand. Both of the bags I’m carrying here are from their latest line – they’re so on-trend and the quality is really amazing for the price! More of their handbags worth checking out include this crochet satchel, this snake print bucket bag (ordering immediately!), this cork clutch & this woven crossbody.
I’ve rounded up dozens of my favorite pieces from the sale in the scrolling bars below. Also just have to share that the lipstick I’m wearing here is the perfect coral color (in Firecracker) and if you’re looking for new lip liners, I swear by these (Ever & Natural are the ones I use the most). I’m stocking up on my everyday makeup must-haves, which rarely go on sale. I swear by this CC Cream (travel size here), this undereye concealer (I use Light Amber), this mascara (travel size here) and this eye palette, which I use almost every single day.
