Winter Survival Kit

With the drastic dip in temperatures we experienced over the weekend (including our first snowfall), I am already starting to shift my beauty routine to prepare for the drier & colder weather.  When we moved from North Carolina to New York two years ago, I had to completely revamp my skin care regimen to keep my skin hydrated & protected from the harsh elements we face here during the winter months.  So today I’m sharing my go-to products that help me survive the cold season and, while not all of these are “budget” items, I wouldn’t list them here unless I knew they were completely worth the splurge!

1) Clarisonic Mia Cleansing System / 2) L’Oreal EverSleek Smoothing Deep Conditioner
3) Alterna Winter RX Anti-Static Spray / 4) VS Makeup PRO Smooth FX Lip Scrub & Balm
5) CeraVe Facial Lotion AM / 6) CeraVe Facial Lotion PM / 7) La Roche Posay Hydraphase Eyes

I completely agree that although the Clarisonic does not appear budget friendly it is definitely worth the money! Thanks for sharing, I always love seeing what other products ladies use! Megan, http://thethreadaffect.com

GOT to try that static spray! It really doesn't get cold here (what the heck is snow?) but my hair definitely has static issues. It makes me want to wear it up all winter long.

Love this! Great products! I've heard great things about Clarisonic might be time I add this to my Christmas list. Another great hair product that leaves your hair really soft and glossy, and helps with fly-a-aways is R&B by Lush.

If you want a moisturizer that has ceramides but does not contain parabens like Cerave does, First Aid Beauty is a great option!

I live in KY and while it doesn't get super duper cold, the wind is what kills my skin. Last year I was featured on Yahoo's The Thread for my winter skin care tip: Vaseline. I mix a tiny amount in my moisturizer in the morning and night for extra hydration, and use it for my severely chapped lips. I'm going to try the CeraVe, everyone keeps talking about it!
Also, if your hair gets really static-y, don't use a towel on it, at all. Gently wring your hair out and blow dry with cool air.
