I convinced my editorial assistant, Abbey, to join me for this first post & I’m so glad she said yes. She has been with me since last November (first introduced here), working behind the scenes, traveling with me & taking over the Weekly Top Finds every Saturday. Several of you have asked about her and now you will finally get the chance to put a face with the name. She is a full-time student in her junior year of college and she describes her style as equal parts bohemian & feminine. She has been an incredible asset to me in the short time she’s been on board & I feel so blessed to have her on my team.
We all know how difficult it can be to find a dress that fits perfectly right off the rack. So, Abbey & I browsed through all of the new arrivals at Old Navy and tried on dozens of different styles to discover what worked best for our individual shapes. They have so many gorgeous options to choose from, so no matter what your body type, you’re guaranteed to find a dress that you love! We’ll be sharing about why we chose the ones we’re wearing here, how they flatter & what types of dresses to look for/avoid based on your specific shape. Right now is a great time to shop because they are offering 25% off any order amount, 30% off $75 or 40% off $100 online & today only using code SAVEMORE. Plus, you’ll earn $10 in Super Cash for every $25 you spend!
Abbey has an hourglass-meets-apple figure. She stated that her biggest challenge is finding a dress that fits through the bust without being too large in the waist. After trying on a few options, she determined that a fit & flare shape was the most complimentary to her curves. This particular cami dress comes in so many pretty spring prints that she had a hard time narrowing it down to her favorite. She appreciated that it gave her the support she needed (the adjustable straps are key!) and that it wasn’t too short. She purchased the regular size, but it is also available in petite & tall sizing. Note: because of her bust size, none of the button-front dresses she tried on worked for her because there were gaping issues. So, if you have a similar shape, she recommends avoiding this style of dress altogether or sizing up to eliminate the problem & then having the dress tailored to fit in other areas. Other styles that flattered her were this printed midi dress and this striped fit & flare.
